Greg Lertch Demolition Excavating

A New Jersey Family Legacy

Douglas, Donald, Joseph & Frank Lurch Demolition NJ Family History

The Lertch family demolition legacy started back in the late 1950’s with a man by the name of Clarence Lurch. After returning from war overseas Clarence Lurch decided to move to Wall Township New Jersey, raise a family and create a demolition business called C.A. Wrecking.

After years of success, his four sons Douglas, Donald, Joseph and Frank Lurch started taking over operations of the C.A. Wrecking, changing the name to Lertch Wrecking and growing two other affiliate companies, Lertch Recycling and Lertch Disposal. The family quickly became known as the “Demolition Experts” and were growing in numbers. Doug, Don, Joe and Frank Lurch now have sons of their own who are also working in the family business.

One of Clarence Lurch’s grandsons in particular who seemed to stand out above the rest of the 3rd generation was Joe Lurch’s son Greg. As a child, Greg wanted nothing more than to be just like his father Joe and was determined to master operating heavy equipment and to be the next “expert” at demolishing buildings. Many would agree he accomplished just that but in 2014 tragedy struck the Lurch family when Greg’s father, Joe Lurch, suddenly died of a heart attack at the young age of only 58.

Greg was devastated and took the death of his father extremely hard. Greg decided to part ways with the Lertch Wrecking family business and create his own path and company known today as Greg Lertch Demolition Excavating. With over 30 years of experience in the demolition industry and the determination to make his father proud, Greg Lurch is continuing the family legacy that his grandfather Clarence Lurch started many years ago.
